The NASA MINDS progam ran again this year, 2023, and Santa Monica College entered with a team of students called “HiveMinds.” The students designed and assembled several rolling robots which would behave as an autonomous swarm to explore a surface such as the moon’s surface. The team went over the NASA-funded budget, so we stepped in to provide the Raspberry Pi brains, the Dexter Laboratories’ Brick Pi interface, and the Lego EV3 robots.
